At Gripsholms Värdshus , we Värdshus the flavors of Christmas seriously. Here, we serve up a traditional Christmas buffet with everything you’d expect—and then some. Pickled herring, salmon, Jansson’s Temptation, Christmas ham, meatballs, and other classics are served alongside sweet Christmas favorites on a lavishly laden buffet table.
Take a seat in our beautiful dining rooms and enjoy delicious food, candlelight, and the festive atmosphere that makes Christmas so special.

In our beautiful banquet hall, we serve "Lillebordet," a smaller Christmas buffet perfect for both small and large groups.

- Matjes herring, Brantevik eggplant
- Dill boiled potatoes
- Egg halves with mayonnaise and seaweed roe
- Cured salmon, hot-smoked salmon & seafood pâté
- Beet Salad, Potato Salad, and Red Cabbage Salad with Orange
- Freshly Grilled Christmas Ham, Roast Beef, Munsö Sausage, and Liver Pâté
- Garnishes: red onion, chives, sour cream, butler’s sauce, rum sauce, herb dressing, pickled cucumber, cornichons, pickled beets, Cumberland sauce, applesauce, and fresh lingonberries
- Hot dishes: Jansson's Temptation, mini sausages, meatballs, pork belly with apples, mustard, and rosemary, and potatoes boiled with dill

Christmas table & a cozy winter stay
Make this year's Christmas table an extra memorable stay with our Christmas table package. The evening begins with a traditional Christmas table filled with classic flavors from Sörmland. Afterwards, one of our cozy rooms with comfortable beds awaits, where you sleep well while the city rests in winter peace.
Throughout the day, you can enjoy Mariefred’s winter-clad small-town idyll, shops decked out for Christmas, and the festive atmosphere of Christmas shopping. On November 29, there’s a Christmas market in Mariefred, and the town square fills with the scents of pine branches and mulled wine, as a warm Christmas spirit spreads throughout the town. Our Christmas table catering is a complete Christmas table - filled with traditional dishes, ready to serve at home or at work. For those who want a simpler alternative, there is our Christmas plate, where we have gathered the most beloved Christmas flavors in a smaller format.

Early Bird Offer
In the run-up to Christmas, we're offering an Early Bird price on our Christmas buffet at Gripsholm's Värdshus. The offer is valid fromthe end of May through September 30and provides a 100-krona discount per person.
A great opportunity to plan ahead and, at the same time, have more options when choosing from the popular Christmas dates and seating times.
